Nothing inspires me more than a good blog…
Okay, that’s a lie – I am quite easily inspired, but in a world filled with wonder, who wouldn’t be?
I will however say that reading a well written blog, or scrolling through beautiful images is on my list of my most favourite things to do.

I will however say that reading a well written blog, or scrolling through beautiful images is on my list of my most favourite things to do.
I have a whole bunch of blogs saved to “favourites”, some
names I remember by heart, while others are accessed via my dashboard. Some of these blogs I read faithfully,
while others I catch up on when I’m in the mood for something in particular.
Some are art related, others cooking related, there are fashion blogs, and
lifestyle blogs… some of these blogs make use of more pictures than words,
while others only use words.
As much as I love reading blogs, I love having my own blog –
and I am proud of it.
Just the other day I was scrolling through some of my previous posts – It was so much fun being reminded of thoughts I had pondered, feelings I had felt, pictures I had ogled – I found a rant in there too, and more spelling and grammar mistakes than I’d like to admit.

…At this stage I would like to admit that when I started
typing this post, it was to speak about something completely different – But I’m
going to stick with this and save my original thought for another post…
I often feel guilty that I don’t post more – I honestly
don’t know where the time goes – But try to remind myself that blogging is
something I do for fun, and I shouldn’t turn it into a chore…But could anything
one enjoys so much ever be a chore? Surely it would just be a source of fulfillment?
I envy people who blog for a living – a dream come true…
Or is it?
Or is it?
Mark Anthony once said “If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life”… I know right – quoting Mark Anthony – but hey, it makes sense…
Or does it?
Discuss…
I have always loved fashion – and all that comes with it – Fabric,
design, illustration, magazines, clothing, styling, shows, trends, designers…
So there was no doubt in my mind that I was going to get into the industry once
I had left school. I went to a prestigious fashion school (some would argue),
and got a degree in fashion (yes, this is a real qualification…if you consider
a BA a real qualification), and I have worked in the industry for almost 8
years – when I tell people what I do, they generally seem quite excited, and I
am sure a couple of them envy me, as I envy professional
bloggers.
Being in this industry is nothing like I pictured it when
dreaming about “one day when I grow up…” I think to some degree, when something
becomes work, it sucks a lot of the joy out of it. Perhaps it would be the same
if blogging became my job.
